“Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin. And there are many things that don't really end, anyway, they just begin again in a new way. Ends are not bad and many ends aren't really an ending; some things are never-ending.”
                                                                                                                                       -C. JoyBell C.

Can you feel it ????? It's approaching.....the end to the last Unit of inquiry in Grade 3. A sneak peek into week 38.......

Last week we bid farewell to Ms. Lalita, with heavy hearts and best wishes we said good bye to her.

WE WILL MISS YOU MS. LALITA!

This week we learnt about fact and opinions. We understood that facts tell what actually happened and can be proven true or false. Opinion is a personal belief or judgement.

The students were each given a song based on the systems that they have been researching on. They identified the facts and opinions in those songs.

Grade 5 invited us to tell us about their upcoming show 9 directions 1 way. We are looking forward  to your show on the 30th evening.

This week we also had a dance and PE assembly. We had fun watching the young gymnasts and budding dancers.

A glimpse into one of the many dance performances of that assembly -

Presentation time!!!!!

This week we learnt so much more about the body systems. We had the 7th graders come to class and teach us about the different systems. They explained and made us do activities based on the different systems.

Thank you Ramon Sir and the 7th graders for arranging such an interesting and fun way of learning.

This week we presented about the body systems we have been researching about. We assessed our peers on their presentations.

A sneak peek into the presentations -

We continued to work on our animations and PPT presentations on the body systems. We helped each other click pictures and learnt how to create an animation using the open shot editor.

This week in Math we learnt about Carroll diagrams.

Carroll diagram
• a sorting diagram named after Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson),
mathematician and author of "Alice in Wonderland".
• a Carroll diagram is used to sort items according to
the attributes of two or more categories.
• numbers or objects are categorised
as belonging or not belonging.

We found some fun math facts about the human body and shared them with our friends.

Functions of the systems in our body.

This week the 3rd graders at EIS have been engrossed in learning about how the different systems function, what activities do the different organs do in order to perform simple actions like breathing, moving, bending, sneezing etc. We have nearly finished researching and are in the process of presenting our learning through animations and PPT presentations. Stay tuned to see how we go about the same........

This week in Math, we have been learning about angles. We learnt what are right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles. We also explored directions with angles.

Forming different angles using our body as lines.

This week our friends from Grade 1 taught us about the 3 R's. Thank you Ms. Jessica and Grade 1 we now know how easy it is to make recycled paper. We will try and do whatever we can to save the Earth.
